Syllabus

Pre-YAA Introduction Course (4 weeks)

Candidates are initially screened and selected based on their submitted application forms to join this mandatory introductory phase. It is designed to build essential baseline knowledge and assess a student’s suitability for the rigorous full-theory curriculum.
 

  • Duration: 4 Weeks (12 Hours)
     

  • Core Objectives: Provide a practical, accessible introduction to foundational aviation theory. Assess aptitude, commitment, and suitability of students for advanced training.
     

  • Upon completing the 12-hour course, students will sit an exit examination. Suitable candidates will be invited to a formal interview with HKYAA instructors. From this pool,  students will be selected to advance to Phase ONE.

Phase ONE (12 weeks)

The selected students from Introduction Course begins a deep dive into structured aviation theory. The curriculum closely maps to HKCAD PPL theoretical knowledge requirements.
 

  • Duration: 12 Weeks (36 hours)
     

  • Core Curriculum Highlights * (HKCAD PPL Standards):

    • Principles of Flight & Aircraft General Knowledge

    • Flight Performance, Planning, and Operational Procedures

    • Meteorology & Navigation

    • Air Law & Human Performance Limitations

    • Aviation Communication (Radio Telephony)

Phase TWO (12 weeks)

This phase balances advanced theoretical mastery with the holistic development required of modern aviation professionals.
 

  • Duration: 12 Weeks (36 hours)
     

  • Advanced Ground School: Continuous development of PPL theoretical expertise and operational synthesis.
     

  • Soft Skills & Leadership Training: Crew Resource Management (CRM), communication, analytical decision-making and professional interview preparation.
     

  • Exclusive Industry Visits *: Direct exposure to Hong Kong’s premiere aviation institutions:

    • Cathay City Visit

    • HKCAD Headquarter Visit

    • Government Flying Service (GFS) Visit

    • Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) Visit

    • HAECO Visit

    • HAESL Visit

* All scheduled visits are subject to change and are strictly dependent on the availability and operational constraints of the host organizations. Placement or execution of these specific visits is not guaranteed.

Attendance & Accessment

Examinations and quiz will take place during the Introduction Course, Phase ONE & Phase TWO. High attendance rate is required and important.

After passing all the examinations with high rate of attendance, students will graduate from our programme and a certificate will be given the the students as a reconization.
